One of the most interesting types of music which started in the U.S. is the Bluegrass Blues, but, did you know that it actually rooted from country music?
It was in the early 20th century when country music became a big hit in the country and singers of the genre became known to many cities. It was also called "mountain music" and had evolved dramatically in rural towns and villages. The Monroe brothers from Kentucky were some of the most famous country singers during the time. They dominated the first and second decades with Charlie Monroe playing the guitar and his brother Bill on the mandolin. However, in 1938, the brothers decided to separate and established their own bands. This was when Bill created his own and named it Bill Monroe and the Blue Grass Boys. Since they originated from Kentucky, which is the Bluegrass State, they found it appropriate to name the band as such.
Bluegrass blues songs became popular since then. The band implemented the elements of blues, work songs, folk music, and even gospel. They showcased different types of vocal harmonies which included duos, trios, and solos (which Bill gladly did himself). He and the Bluegrass boys experimented on much acoustic instrumentation but they eventually settled on guitar, fiddle, bass, mandolin, and banjo. Their music is definitely one of the most popular when people want to download bluegrass blues songs. Bluegrass hasn't stopped evolving since. In fact, there are bands that do covers of the old bluegrass songs and give their versions a contemporary touch.
